Le Coq Sportif and Opium have a long history, which was intensified in 2019 with an initial collaboration. In recent years, the apparel and footwear brand
sportswear considers the iconic sneaker store to be an important teammate and has invited Yace and Mounir (the founders of Opium) to collaborate on several projects, including the Early Birds project on the occasion of the release of the retro-tennis sneaker T1000. After their first collaboration, the French brand and the two pioneers
of Parisian sneaker culture created a new pair on Opium's 20th anniversary. The two Opium founders welcomed Le Coq Sportif to one of their stores, located in Châtelet-Les-Halles, to imagine a pair of shoes that represented them. A meeting between a passionate duo with a lifestyle from which Paris shines through and a creative team to study new sneakers. Between hip-hop culture, the search for escapism, music, sports and art, these two creatives set no
limits. Like climbing a mountain, Opium's story is beautiful and to live it, the secrets are perseverance, passion and the ability to overcome difficulties. A challenging path that inspired this new LCS R1100 and is drawn under the sole. This illustration sets the tone for this new model in which there are 9 colors and multiple materials: suede, mesh, corduroy, leather-a model rich in history and detail.
